Volunteering at Northwest Kiwanis Camp
Volunteers are vital to our camp operation and assist with camp set-up, food service, recreational activities, maintaining the facilities and staff support.
- During the 2008 camp sessions 105 volunteers from as far away as Portland contributed over 1100 hours assisting with:
- Swimming at the Port Townsend Pool
- Backcountry Horsemen and their trained volunteers in horseback riding activities
- Fishing trips to Bill Leavitt's: baiting hooks, netting and cleaning fish
- Field trips to the Port Townsend Marine Science Center
- Arts & Cratfs projects, nature walks, campfire activities
- Nightime entertainment - musicians, magicians, clowns, talent shows
- Food service, laundry, facilities maintenance
