VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering at Northwest Kiwanis Camp

Volunteers are vital to our camp operation and assist with camp set-up, food service, recreational activities, maintaining the facilities and staff support.   

  • During the 2008 camp sessions 105 volunteers from as far away as Portland contributed over 1100 hours assisting with: 
    • Swimming at the Port Townsend Pool 
    • Backcountry Horsemen and their trained volunteers in horseback riding activities
    • Fishing trips to  Bill Leavitt's:  baiting hooks, netting and cleaning fish 
    • Field trips to the Port Townsend Marine Science Center 
    • Arts & Cratfs projects, nature walks, campfire activities 
    • Nightime entertainment - musicians, magicians, clowns, talent shows 
    • Food service, laundry, facilities maintenance

If you have an hour or two to spare, please give us a call at 360-732-7222 or email us at nwkc@earthlink.net  A brief application must be completed and a background check must be done by the Washington State Patrol. No experience is necessary.
